Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy achieved remarkable results at the 37th edition of the Medical Workers’ Spartakiad. The event, which has already become a tradition, was organized between September 12-14 by the "Health" Trade Union Federation of Moldova under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova and promoted the importance of sports and a healthy lifestyle among employees of the healthcare system.
The opening ceremony was attended by: Minister of Health of the Republic of Moldova Ala Nemerenco, General Director of the National Health Insurance Company Ion Dodon, Vice-Rector for Clinical Activity Management of Nicolae Testemitanu University Marcel Abras, President of “Health” Trade Union Federation of Moldova and the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (CTUM) Igor Zubcu, as well as the Vice-Presidents (CTUM) Sergiu Sainciuc and Lilia Frant. The officials welcomed the initiative of the trade union organization and emphasized the benefits of sports activities in maintaining physical and mental health.
President Igor Zubco thanked the participating teams for their enthusiasm and dedication, noting that the Spartakiad was not only a sports competition, but also an opportunity for socializing and exchange of experience between health professionals.
Vice-Rector Marcel Abras emphasized that the event promoted several values such as team spirit, leadership, development of strategy-forming skills and, most importantly, communication. "Basically, it is a meeting with graduates, because here we share memories, create new relationships and identify common activities for the immediate future. Be united when they want to divide you, when someone gives in - let's lift them up, and when they don't know - let's help them. With each of us present here, the health system becomes stronger", emphasized Marcel Abras. In this context, the vice-rector urged colleagues to support young specialists who come to work in public medical and health institutions, creating favorable conditions for their personal and professional development.
Due to excellent sports training, the Nicolae Testemitanu University’s team of teaching staff and resident doctors climbed on the first step of the award podium in the following events: volleyball (female), volleyball (male), mini-football and 4X100 m relay.
Also in the individual category:
